Paine College’s Special Collections Office, located at the Collins-Callaway Library, has a multitude of documents, books, and photos showing its expansive and highly acclaimed history. We also have recordings that may be of interest to all!
This particular recording is of a group of Paine College chorus members, performed in Haygood Hall (the original structure) on the evening of April 7, 1967. The Musical Director was Frank M. Calhoun, and Roosevelt Simpkins was the Accompanist. Of the 55 voluntary members, 35 chorus singers were selected for this special event.
Since this is a long-playing record, a record player is needed to listen to this archived item; however, the ‘LP’ is a sealed item, thus its in mint condition and requires special handling.
